Hire a full-time nanny the careful way.
A managed placement service for Jamaican families who need a long-term, live-in or live-out caregiver — and want it done right. We source, screen, interview, and place. You choose.
Refundable J$25,000 matching fee · 50% of first month on hire · 90-day replacement guarantee.
How a placement works
Four steps from your first WhatsApp message to your nanny’s first day. Most families complete the process in two to three weeks.
Discovery call
A 30-minute WhatsApp or video call with our placement lead. We capture your family profile — children's ages, hours, parish, language, faith preferences, dietary needs, household routines, and the salary band you have in mind. We pay the matching fee at the end of this call to begin the search.
Sourcing and screening
Within 7–14 business days we screen candidates against your brief from our verified caregiver network. Every shortlisted candidate has a current JCF Police Certificate, at least two checked work references, and has passed a structured interview with our team. You receive a shortlist of two to four caregivers with profile, photo, references summary, and our notes.
Your interviews
You interview the shortlist — in person, by WhatsApp video, or both. We handle the scheduling and prepare a recommended interview guide tailored to your family's needs. You choose your nanny. We confirm the start date and salary.
Onboarding and 90-day support
We send a written agreement template, walk both sides through expectations, and remain on call for the first 90 days. The success fee — 50% of one month's gross salary — is paid on the caregiver's first day. If the placement does not work out within 90 days, we run the search again at no additional fee.
Placement pricing
Two fees. No monthly retainer. No markup on your nanny’s pay.
Step 1
Matching fee
J$25,000 (≈ US$160)
Refundable. Paid at the end of the discovery call to begin the search. Fully credited back against the success fee when you hire.
- Discovery call with placement lead
- Sourcing from verified caregiver network
- JCF Police Certificate verification
- Reference checks (minimum 2 prior employers)
- Shortlist of 2–4 vetted caregivers
Step 2
Success fee
50% of first month’s gross salary
Paid on the caregiver’s first day. The J$25,000 matching fee is credited against this amount. You never pay both.
- Written agreement template
- Onboarding walk-through (both sides)
- 90-day check-ins
- 90-day replacement guarantee

Worked example. You hire a live-out nanny at J$60,000 per week (J$240,000 monthly). Success fee is J$120,000, minus the J$25,000 matching fee already paid. Total cost to you on start day: J$95,000.
Who placements are for
If you need long-term, daily childcare from one trusted person — this is the right tier. For occasional, evening, or weekend bookings, see /find-a-sitter instead.
Working parents in Kingston Metro
You need a nanny five days a week, school run, homework, dinner, sometimes overnight. A vetted live-out nanny placed by us replaces three or four ad-hoc helpers.
Live-in families island-wide
Mandeville to Montego Bay, you want a live-in nanny for a newborn, twins, or a family with several young children. We handle the live-in agreement template, days off, and food allowance language.
Diaspora families
You are in New York, Toronto, London, or Miami. You need a long-term caregiver for your parent in Jamaica or your child with extended family. We bill in USD and do the discovery call by video.
What is included
Every placement comes with the same baseline standards. We do not compromise the screening, even when families ask us to move faster.
JCF Police Certificate verification
Original certificate inspected, expiry confirmed, name matched against government-issued ID.
Two reference checks
Direct calls to at least two previous employers or families. We document what we heard — including anything mixed.
Structured interview
Same question set across every candidate so families are comparing like for like, not vibes for vibes.
Written agreement template
Plain-English live-in or live-out template covering hours, pay, days off, sick days, food allowance, and termination.
90-day check-ins
Scheduled WhatsApp check-ins at day 7, 30, 60, and 90. We catch friction early.
90-day replacement guarantee
If the placement does not work out within 90 days, we run the search again with no additional fee.
Frequently asked
What does CareLink's placement service include?
We source candidates from our verified caregiver network, screen them against your brief, verify a current JCF Police Certificate, run reference checks with their previous families or employers, conduct a structured first interview on your behalf, and present you with a shortlist of two to four caregivers. You interview the finalists and choose. We then handle the contract template, onboarding, and the first 90 days of check-ins.
How long does the placement process take?
Most families have a shortlist within 7 to 14 business days from the discovery call. Live-in placements with strict requirements (specific parish, particular faith community, multilingual, or specialised care) can take up to 21 business days. We never rush a placement — placing the wrong caregiver costs you more than the extra week.
What does it cost?
Two fees. A refundable matching fee of J$25,000 (approximately US$160) reserves your discovery call and our search work. It is credited back against the success fee when you hire. The success fee is 50% of one month's gross salary, payable on the caregiver's start date. There is nothing else — no monthly platform fee, no admin charge, no markup on the caregiver's pay.
What if the placement does not work out?
You get a 90-day replacement guarantee. If the caregiver leaves, is dismissed for cause, or is not the right fit within the first 90 days, we run the search again with no additional fee. Most families never need to use this — but it is the reason we screen as carefully as we do up front.
Do you place live-in nannies as well as live-out?
Yes. Live-in placements are common in Jamaica and the diaspora — we handle both. For live-in, the caregiver receives room, board, and a monthly stipend separate from cash pay. We help you draft a written agreement covering days off, food allowance, internet, and the rest of the standard live-in expectations.
What salary should I budget?
Full-time live-out nannies in Jamaica are typically J$35,000 to J$80,000 per week depending on hours, parish, child count, and experience. Live-in nannies typically range from J$80,000 to J$200,000 per month plus room and board. Our advisor on the discovery call gives you a tighter band based on your specific brief.
Are your caregivers verified?
Every caregiver we place must produce a current JCF Police Certificate (not expired, originals checked), provide at least two work references from prior families or employers, and pass a structured interview with our placement lead. We also confirm right-to-work documents where the caregiver is a non-Jamaican national.
I'm in the diaspora — can you place a caregiver for my parent or my child in Jamaica?
Yes. Roughly a third of our placement clients are Jamaicans abroad — in New York, Toronto, London, Miami, or further. We bill in USD, conduct the discovery call by WhatsApp video, and send weekly written summaries with photos shared by the caregiver and family. See /diaspora for the full diaspora flow.
