How it works
1. Tell us about your parent
Message us on WhatsApp from wherever you are. We ask about their health, mobility, the home, and the hours you need covered.
2. We search their parish
We recruit caregivers near your parent, so she can actually get to work: St. Elizabeth, Manchester, Clarendon, Kingston, St. Catherine and across Jamaica.
3. We verify her before you meet her
Government ID checked against her face in person. A current JCF Police Certificate. Two work references we telephone ourselves. An interview with our team, including a signed declaration of any arrest, charge or conviction.
4. You approve her by video call
We present her to you with a written profile. You meet her online before she sets foot in the house.
5. She starts, and we stay involved
A home visit before day one, a written care plan, and weekly check-ins on your parent and the caregiver, reported to you.

Errands, shopping and bills
Your caregiver can shop, collect prescriptions and pay bills with a float you provide. This is written into her brief, with receipts for every purchase and a cap per trip. CareLink never handles that money.
It is the part of caring from 2,000 miles away that nobody mentions: your mother is fine, but the light bill is due and there is no bread in the house.
Hiring her legally, from abroad
A helper in Jamaica is an employee, and NIS, NHT and PAYE apply whether or not anyone mentions them. Being overseas does not change that, and it is the thing diaspora families most often find out too late. We wrote the whole thing up.

Questions overseas families ask
Can I do all of this without flying to Jamaica?
Yes. The search, the video interview, the written agreement and the payment all happen from where you are. We do the home visit in Jamaica on your behalf.
How long does it take?
We do not put a clock on a search, because the slowest step is reaching references by phone. Our commitment is 45 days: if we have not presented a suitable verified candidate within 45 days, you can continue the search at no cost or take a full refund of the placement fee.
What if she doesn't work out?
Every placement carries our 30-Day Replacement Guarantee: we source and fully vet a replacement at no further placement fee. She clears the same four checks as the caregiver before her. On the Diaspora Care plan your replacement search also starts the day you tell us, ahead of new-client placements. We do not put a clock on the search itself, because every replacement clears all four checks and we will not shorten them to hit a date.
Do you handle the caregiver's pay?
On the Diaspora Care plan we administer it: we prepare the payslip, confirm the amount, send you the payment reminder, and confirm with the caregiver that payment was received. For placements, you pay your caregiver directly and CareLink never handles her wages. For occasional bookings, you pay CareLink per booking and we pay the sitter.
Which parishes do you cover?
All fourteen. When you engage us we run a fresh search in your parent's own parish, so the caregiver can realistically get to work and will still be doing it in six months. Every candidate clears the same five checks wherever she comes from, and each parish has its own page covering what families there usually need.
