Is CareLink a home-care agency in Jamaica?
CareLink is a verified caregiver marketplace, not a traditional agency. You get the same trust an agency promises — mandatory JCF Police Certificate, ID checks, references we personally call — but you meet and approve the specific caregiver yourself, keep the same familiar person over time, and avoid the agency markup so more of your money reaches the caregiver.
Do you provide home care in Kingston?
Yes — Kingston and St. Andrew are our most active areas, and we cover all 14 parishes. Tell us the community, who needs care, and the hours on WhatsApp and we match you with a verified in-home caregiver nearby.
What kind of in-home care do you arrange?
Non-clinical caregiving in the person's own home: companion care, help with daily routines and personal care, meal preparation, mobility support, medication reminders, and post-hospital recovery help. For active medical or nursing treatment we'll be honest that you need a licensed nurse or facility. Full detail is on our elder & patient care page.
How much does home care cost compared with an agency?
Traditional agencies add a markup on top of what the caregiver is paid. CareLink charges a fair platform fee instead, so a larger share of your payment reaches the caregiver — and you always see the arrangement before you confirm. Cash arrangements can waive the platform fee entirely.
I live abroad — can I arrange home care for a parent in Jamaica?
Yes. Many families arranging in-home care are in the diaspora. Everything is coordinated on WhatsApp, you pay in USD by card or PayPal, and the caregiver is paid in JMD. See our diaspora page for how overseas families manage care back home.
