Babysitters in Jamaica, vetted by people — not paperwork

Every babysitter we send has cleared four checks before she looks after your child. We do them ourselves, by telephone and in person, in every parish.

The four checks every babysitter we send clears

ID checked against her face

A government ID, matched to the person we meet — not a photo she uploaded.

Current JCF Police Certificate

We check the certificate itself: her name, the record, and the date.

References we telephone

Two past employers or families, called by our team, not emailed a form.

An interview

We talk to her about the children she has cared for and how she handles the hard moments.

How it works in detail: how verification works. Every placement carries our 30-Day Replacement Guarantee.

Before your first booking: a safety checklist

  • Meet her before the first booking, with the children there.
  • Write down allergies, medication, bedtimes and two emergency numbers.
  • Agree the house rules: screens, food, visitors (none), and whether she may leave the house with the children.
  • Ask for a check-in message at a set time.
  • Agree pay and the end time, and how she gets home if it's late.
  • Afterwards, ask the children how it went.

The questions worth asking first: 15 questions to ask a babysitter in Jamaica.

Questions parents ask

How do I find a trustworthy babysitter in Jamaica?

Ask who did the vetting. Every babysitter CareLink sends clears four checks first: her government ID checked against her face, a current JCF Police Certificate, two work references that our team telephones, and an interview. Tell us your town, the children's ages and the hours on WhatsApp and we match you with a sitter who has cleared all four.

How much does a babysitter cost in Jamaica?

Babysitters set their own hourly rate, and it varies by parish, experience and the number of children. Our parish-by-parish guide to babysitter rates in Jamaica shows typical ranges, and you always see the sitter's rate before you confirm a booking.

Can I get a babysitter for my hotel or villa?

Yes. Visiting families can book a verified sitter for a hotel room, resort or private villa, and pay in USD by PayPal, international transfer or remittance. Tell us the property, dates and children's ages on WhatsApp.

Can I get a babysitter tonight?

Message us as soon as you know. Short-notice bookings carry a 20% surcharge, which goes to the sitter. We move as fast as coverage in your area allows, but we never skip a check to save time, so we don't promise a time.

Who pays for the sitter's ride home at night?

If a booking ends late and the sitter has no transport of her own, a Safe Drop-Home fee covers a safe ride home, typically J$800–J$1,500 depending on distance. You see it before you confirm.

Do you have after-school babysitters?

Yes. A typical after-school arrangement is Monday to Friday, about 3 PM to 7 PM: school pickup, homework, and supper ready before you get home. It's one of the most requested arrangements in Kingston, St. Andrew and Portmore.
