What you'll need to apply.
CareLink's standards are deliberately high — that's why parents trust us. If you have most of these and want to work toward the rest, apply anyway. We'll guide you through.
JCF Police Record (required)
A current Jamaica Constabulary Force Police Record — issued within the last 6 months. We reimburse the JMD $3,000 fee after you get placed with a family.
Government-issued ID (required)
National ID, passport, or driver’s licence. We do a manual ID + name match against your Police Cert.
2 personal references (required)
Family, neighbour, school parent, employer, or church member who can vouch for you. We contact each one personally.
HEART/NTA certification (preferred)
Childcare: Early Childhood Care or NCTVET Level 1+. Elder care: HEART Allied Health – Patient Care, PCA (Patient Care Assistant), or practical-nursing background. Any of these boost your profile — and where you claim one, we verify the paperwork before it shows.
CPR + First Aid (preferred)
Adds a verified credential to your profile and lets you accept newborn / infant / special-needs bookings, or post-hospital and dementia elder-care work.

How do I get my JCF Police Record?+
Pay the fee at any Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) office with your TRN, then apply online at jcf.gov.jm and attend a fingerprinting appointment at 56 Duke Street. Normal Service is JMD $3,000 (21 working days); Express is JMD $6,000 (5 working days). Once you have it, upload to CareLink and we credit JMD $3,000 to your wallet after you get placed with your first family.
How do I get paid?+
You set your hourly rate. Parents pay you directly via bank transfer, Lynk, or cash (zero platform fee on these), or via card / PayPal (CareLink charges the parent a small platform fee on top — sitters always keep 100% of their listed rate).
How long does verification take?+
Once you upload your Police Cert + ID + references, we typically verify within 24 hours during business days.
Do I need any specific qualifications?+
No formal qualification is required for general babysitting. HEART/NTA Early Childhood credentials, CPR / First Aid, and prior nursery/preschool work boost your profile and unlock premium rates — but they're not gating.
Can I sign up for elderly care instead of, or as well as, childcare?+
Yes. CareLink now verifies caregivers for both childcare and elderly & patient care, under the same four checks. Tell us which line (or both) you work in during your application. If you hold a PCA, HEART Allied Health – Patient Care, or practical-nursing credential, we'll verify it and show it on your profile — we never list a credential we haven't confirmed.
Can I work in multiple parishes?+
Yes. Set your service radius in your profile. If you have your own transport, you can serve a wider area and command higher rates.
What if a booking goes wrong?+
We mediate disputes in good faith and protect you against unfair reviews. Caregiver liability coverage is being arranged with a licensed Jamaican insurance partner and will be announced when it goes live.
